The Q4 Playbook

The ninety days that decide your year. What to post, what to sell, and why the work starts in September.
CREATOR HAVEN
01 / The window

Q4 is not a busy season. It is the season.

October through December is when TikTok Shop does the volume it spends the rest of the year building toward.

Brands release the ad budgets they have been sitting on all year. Buyer intent climbs across every category. GMV Max finally has real money behind it, which means the same video that earned you a small number in July can earn a multiple of that in November without you changing a single thing about how you made it.

Whatever you are making today, you should be making three times that in Q4. So post three times the videos and promote three times the products. Same math, no shortcut.

The trap

Q4 does not reward what you post in Q4. It rewards what you posted in September.

The algorithm has to already know what you sell, which brands you are attached to, and which of your videos convert.

What that costs you

An account that shows up cold on October 1st spends the entire quarter warming up.

By the time it figures out what works, the money has already moved through and the window is closed.

02 / Preload

Everything you post now resurfaces in Q4.

01
Stop grading videos on what they earn today
You are buying position for October, November and December. A video that does almost nothing in September can get picked up and pushed hard in November, when the ad spend behind that product has tripled.
02
Get into as many different brand ad budgets as you can
Every brand you post for is another budget that can pick your content up later. Between now and October, width beats depth. You want to be sitting inside as many of those budgets as possible when they open up.
03
Promote as many different products as possible
Wide net now, harvest later. Around thirty different products a week is the number the accounts that win Q4 are running. Not thirty videos of the same product. Thirty different products.
04
Any video over 1,000 views is a winning formula
That is the platform putting spend behind you. Do not scroll past it. Write down what the hook was, what the product was, and how it was shot, then do it again with the next product.
The accounts that print in Q4 are the ones that were already warm going into it. There is no version of this where you start on the first of October and catch up.
03 / The calendar

The ninety day calendar

SEPTEMBER
Build the base
  • Get on Halloween and fall products this week, not next month
  • Request free samples now, before shipping times stretch out
  • Fix account health and product selection problems while the stakes are still low
  • Lock in a daily posting number you can actually hold for ninety days
OCTOBER
Peak and prepare
  • Halloween converts hard right through the 31st
  • Start layering Christmas and winter products in from mid month
  • Whatever is working, do not change it. Increase the volume of it
NOVEMBER
The heaviest month
  • Gifting intent plus the biggest campaign windows of the year
  • Higher ticket items start moving because people are buying for other people
  • This is not the month to experiment. Run what already works, at volume
DECEMBER
Harvest
  • Gift buying runs right up against the shipping deadline
  • Last minute and fast shipping products carry the first three weeks
  • After the 25th, pivot to winter, fitness and new year products
04 / Product selection

What to sell, and when to start

Seasonal products have a narrow window where they convert and a long runway before it. You want to be posting them before the search volume shows up, not after.

One thing worth understanding about November and December. Gifting season raises what people are willing to spend, because they are not spending it on themselves. Higher ticket products that would never move in July move fine in November. If you have been avoiding anything above a certain price point, stop avoiding it in Q4.
05 / Content standard

Six things every account that wins has in common

01
Around thirty different products a week
Volume of products, not just volume of videos. More products means more brand budgets you are eligible to be pushed by.
02
A strong visual in the hook
You can see the product actually doing something inside the first second. Not a talking head telling you about it.
03
Tonality that holds
Talk like a person, not a script reader. The moment it sounds read, the scroll happens.
04
Good lighting
The cheapest upgrade available to you and the one most people skip. It changes conversion more than the camera does.
05
Clean cuts and transitions
No dead air, no dead frames. Every second has to earn the next one.
06
The sale gets mentioned clearly
Price, discount, urgency, said out loud within the platform's rules. People do not read the tile, they listen to you.
None of this is exotic. It is six repeatable things, and the gap between the accounts that make Q4 money and the ones that do not is almost always sitting in this list.
06 / Inputs

Two more videos a day. That is the whole ask.

+2Extra videos per day
+60Extra videos per month
Q4The one quarter where ad spend is deep enough to soak all of them up

Sixty extra swings a month at products that have real budget behind them. Some of them do nothing. That is fine, that is the model. You only need a small number of them to land on a product the platform is already pushing, and the ones that land in Q4 land bigger than they would at any other point in the year.

If your numbers are flat, it is one of three things

Volume. Are you actually posting the number you said you would, every day, with no gaps? Look at the last fourteen days honestly before blaming anything else.

Product selection. Are you promoting around thirty different products a week, or the same five you are comfortable with?

Content quality. Pull your best performing video and your worst one side by side. Watch only the first second of each. The difference is almost always right there.

Work them in that order. Volume is free to fix, product selection takes an afternoon, quality takes practice. Most people skip straight to blaming quality and never fix the first two.
07 / This week

The first seven days

  • Pull your last thirty days and write down your current monthly number. That is your baseline. Everything from here gets measured against it.
  • Do product research on Halloween and fall today, and request free samples on everything you find.
  • Pick your daily posting number. Whatever you are doing now, add two. Write it somewhere you will see it.
  • Find your best performing video of the last month and identify the format. That is your template for the next ninety days.
  • Build a product list of thirty for this week, across as many different brands as you can.
  • Fix anything wrong with your account now. Health, product mix, posting gaps. October is too late.
  • Put a reminder on October 15th to start layering Christmas products in.
September. October. November.
Then it pays.
